Beautiful light on a warm December afternoon does not get better than yesterday. As we enter into shabbat Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights – the Jewish holiday for photographers?, I could not help but take Amy outside for the last remaining rays.

With a little help from a grandmother we were able to take advantage before moving inside for the family portraits at Har Shalom. I photographed Amy’s sister’s bat mitzvah a few years ago (Sarah’s Har Shalom Bat Mitzvah) and I think the experience paid off. The portraits went smoothly.

I can’t wait for tomorrow night for her havdalah service and the party. Please enjoy these few photos and look for more next week.
